Genres
Every band on Metal TV is tagged with one or more genre families (for example Black, Death, Doom, Thrash, Heavy, Power). The Genres picker lets you tell the channel which families you want more of, and the live schedule leans toward what the people currently watching have picked.
Setting your genres
- Click Genres in the player bar (or in the Active Genres panel beside the video).
- Tick any genres you want (there is no limit), or use select-all, then save.
- Your picks are remembered on this device, and on your account if you are signed in.
How it steers the channel
The channel mixes the genres of everyone watching, weighted by how many people picked each one, and it picks the next songs to match that blend, so it follows the room within a song or two. The animated bars in the Active Genres panel show the live mix, and your own picks are highlighted.
It is a lean, not a lock: the channel never plays only one genre, and a song will not repeat within the hour. If nobody has set any genres, the channel falls back to a balanced rotation.
The fewer people watching, the more sway you have. If you are the only one tuned in, you have total freedom: pick your genres and the channel plays exactly what you want. As more viewers join, the mix blends everyone's picks together.
