About

"Funeris Nocturnum" translates to "Funeral at Night" in English. The band started as a fast black metal act, then mixed some death and thrash influences into their music, and on their third album, they were industrial-influenced extreme metal. After Aleksi Munter and Mikko Kotamäki left the band in 2004, the four other members were joined by Jimmy Salmi as the new vocalist. In that line-up, they have recorded their new album titled Existence Indifferent. In January 2005, the band announced that the new album would be released under the new name Atakhama while retroactively claiming that Funeris Nocturnum ended in April 2004.
